Assists in the supervision of part-time lifeguards, head lifeguards, swim instructors and seasonal lifeguards.
Provides lifeguard coverage as deemed necessary to both the indoor and outdoor pools.
Helps recruit, train, and orient staff.
Communicates directly with customers, staff and supervisors; maintains open communication.
PRINCIPAL
Responsibilities:
1.
Assists in the supervision of part-time lifeguards, head lifeguards, swim instructors and seasonal lifeguards.
2.
Provides lifeguard coverage as deemed necessary to both the indoor and outdoor pools.
3.
Helps recruit, train, and orient staff.
4.
Communicates directly with customers, staff and supervisors; maintains open communication.
5.
Performs general pool maintenance at indoor and outdoor pools including but not limited to:
circulations system, pumps, operating controllers, cleaning hair strainers, backwashing, and vacuuming.
Safely handle hazardous pool chemicals and maintain proper water balance to comply with established health standards.
6.
Monitors and maintains daily pool chemical logs and maintenance records as well as monthly reports.
7.
Assists the Aquatics Coordinator with staff scheduling and in-house training.
8.
Assists with the programming and operations of the swim lesson program as well as other special events 9.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education:
High school graduate or GED.
Experience:
Three (3) years of aquatic management, lifeguarding, or related field.
(The city will determine the relatedness of the discipline) Licenses and Certificates:
Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate, American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer, Red Cross WSI Instructor (or obtain within 3 months), American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (or obtain within 3 months), CPO or AFO (or obtain within 3 months) THE ABOVE STATEMENTS ARE INTENDED TO DESCRIBE THE GENERAL NATURE AND LEVEL OF WORK BEING PERFORMED AND ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF ALL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND SKILLS WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED.
