Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic Administrative Office Specialist (AOS) to work with the Dual Enrollment & Achievement team.
This AOS position serves as an information specialist and key point of contact for general department information to students, faculty, and staff; supports student success initiatives with a general knowledge of functions and processes throughout the departments within instruction and student support to assist dual enrollment students; provides routine clerical, administrative, and project support to the department.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Provides a welcoming atmosphere by greeting all guests to Dual Enrollment & Achievement, either in person, by phone, mail, or e-mail, with outstanding professionalism and customer service Assists, requests, and tracks dual enrollment registrations and enrollment authorizations, and assists dual student billing; accurately conveys student and college policies and troubleshoots student inquiries and technology concerns.
Support and assist with special events and programs:
Catalyst, Dual Credit Recognition, Career Fair, High School Counselors Workshop, Counselor Administrator Dinner, etc.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitive information pertaining to dual enrollment, including progress reports, FERPA, student conduct issues, and attendance records.
Maintain department website Preparing documents and reports in MS Office Suite, answering calls, managing meetings, calendars, copying, filing, scanning, handling mail, and communicating via email to support the efficient operation of the department.
Provide feedback to Dean, Dual Enrollment and Achievement on issues that arise in the enrollment process system that may be a barrier or issue for students.
Work collaboratively with the staff to identify barriers in the system and suggest methods to reduce or remove barriers.
Coordinates travel, maintains timesheets, and manages pro card reports and work-study student schedules for the Dual Enrollment & Achievement department.
Monitors budgets and prepares budget transfers to maintain accounts, assists in yearly budget preparation for Dean, Dual Enrollment & Achievement Performs other duties of a similar nature as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirements for the position are:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in Office Administration desired from a regionally accredited college.
One year general office experience in performing office duties; three years desired.
Minimum speed of 50 words per minute on a five-minute keyboarding assessment or a minimum of 70% on a production assessment exercise.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs, Adobe Pro, and database systems, especially those used by the College.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Possesses excellent organizational skills and skills that enhance one's value to the institution; exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
